MONO BASIN QUEST
High Desert, Mono Basin, California

  • Are you called to step away from your daily life and reflect on your current life and meaning?
  • Is your authentic life calling to you?
  • Are nature and your true nature calling?
  • Do you long for deeper truths, gifts and purpose in your life?
  • Do you need to honor and mark a particular situation in your life, a change in a relationship, job, health, spiritual life, etc.?

THIS WILDERNESS VISION fast will take us to the high and remote desert mountains of eastern California, among the old jeffrey pines, sage brush, and dry creek beds. We will be informed and supported by the wisdom of nature, and the traditional practices of solitude, fasting (optional), and exposure to the natural world. This timeless ceremony will guide each quester on her/his journey through life changes, and the search for healing, balance and interconnectedness with our own authentic nature and the natural world. In enacting this ancient rite of passage, the ceremony enables us to reclaim our place in the natural cycles of our own lives and within nature itself. We hear the voice of nature through the wind and the presence of rock, tree, bird, and cloud and our true life and gifts become available.

In our preparations we will build community locally for those who wish to undertake this ancient initiatory rite of passage. The preparatory meeting will include the larger local community of family and friends. The return from the wilderness phase of the quest will empower each individual to take their new place in their lives with family, friends, work, community and larger world. A sweat lodge is often part of this important incorporation phase of the ceremony.
